Celebrating Naturopathic Medicine Week: The Care Behind the Care

This Naturopathic Medicine Week, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the incredible practitioners we have the privilege of working alongside every day.


At The Admin Edit, we support a variety of naturopathic clinics across Canada and the U.S., and one thing we can say with complete confidence is this: being an ND involves so much more than what patients see during an appointment.


Behind every treatment plan, recommendation, and follow-up is an incredible amount of care, thoughtfulness, coordination, and emotional energy.


As a team working closely within clinic operations, we get a unique behind-the-scenes perspective into what it truly takes to run a naturopathic practice.

And honestly? It’s a lot.


NDs Wear More Hats Than Most People Realize

Most patients see the appointment itself — but not always the preparation that happens before or the work that continues afterward.


Naturopathic doctors are constantly balancing:

  • Patient care

  • Charting and documentation

  • Reviewing labs

  • Continuing education

  • Follow-ups and patient communication

  • Insurance questions

  • Managing schedules

  • Supporting emotional wellbeing

  • Running a business


The level of intention and detail involved in caring for patients holistically is something we deeply admire.


Whole-Person Care Matters

One of the things we appreciate most about naturopathic medicine is the focus on truly listening.

Many patients are looking for someone who will take the time to understand the full picture — not just symptoms, but lifestyle, stress, sleep, nutrition, hormones, digestion, mental health, and overall wellbeing.


The clinics we support care deeply about creating patient experiences where people feel heard, supported, and empowered.


And that kind of care extends far beyond the treatment room.


Supporting the People Behind the Practice

While NDs focus on patient care, our role is helping support the operational side of the clinic so things can run more smoothly behind the scenes.


That can look like:

  • Organizing clinic systems

  • Helping reduce administrative overwhelm
